Invisible Children and HOME!!!

I returned from Malibu this evening-man, it was so gorgeous and a ton of fun!! Pepperdine is an amazing campus, and I am thankful that I was able to go visit and get some beach time!! However...I get to go HOME tomorrow!!!! I cannot wait-wow, I really feel like I have been through the fire, and have definitely been refined by it. Now comes the real test, I think-seeing what happens when I return...

It is SO awesome that the creators of the Invisible Children project were on Oprah yesterday!! I have to say that I was one of the (who knows how many?) people who e-mailed Oprah to encourage her to have them on to talk about this project. If you have not seen this video or heard about this incredible project, you MUST stop right now...and go check it out HERE!! I am really excited that I will be back for the Invisible Children commute this weekend. This is taking place in cities ALL across this country and the world this coming Saturday. We are going to walk to downtown to spend the night outside, raising awareness about the awful war that is taking place in Uganda and of the tons of children that have to walk miles every night just to spare their lives and so that they will not be kidnapped and forced to serve in a war that has been going on for FAR too long. We are also going to write letters to our senators, President Bush, and making art pieces that will be placed in a book and sold to raise money that will go straight to the children in Uganda. I am glad that they were able to appear on Oprah to raise more awareness about the commute and about the atrocities that are taking place in that country. I love what George Clooney is doing, too.

Tomorrow, I get to ride in a real NASCAR stock car that will likely get up to 160 miles an hour!!!! Oh my word...I am SO excited!! Pray for me-ha ha! It will rock-what an adrenaline rush!! Then...I will head straight to Abilene and go HOME!! Wow...I am so pumped to be able to say that. What a wonderful time that will be-I may just kiss the ground as I walk in.

Have a wonderful weekend, and if you can-join the commute this weekend!! Just go to that site to check out the details. Be blessed~
