Casa is one of the most amazing places I have ever been to. It truly epitomizes its name: Casa de la Esperanza or House of Hope. It is definitely a house of hope for the children who live there. They are taken out of lives of extreme poverty, abuse, neglect, etc and given a chance for life, hope, peace, and joy. They are given the chance to know and have a relationship with God and see His love poured out on them through the people who take care of them, and people like us who choose to go on mission trips there. Just by simply taking our time to play with them, love on them, and give them our attention-despite any "language barrier" that may be present, they are given the chance to know that their IS hope in their lives and it is offered to them freely through the love and grace of Jesus Christ. That is SO incredibly AMAZING!!! It is a special thing to be a part of.
This was my third trip to Casa, as I had been before with my junior high kids from Broadway back in 2002 and 2003. I had amazing memories from those trips and the faces of those kids left deep impressions upon my heart. Here are some of those beautiful faces:

Looks like you are doing well. How are John and Susan Cooper doing by the way? I noticed that you wrote about them in your blog.
