I have two prayer requests for you:
First, there is a student at LCU (who recently graduated from LCHS and has two of the sweetest people for parents, Jerry & Carla I have ever known) named Jerrod Shelton (19), and they found a tumor in his brain last week. They flew down to Plano to one of the best hospitals for brain research there is, and found that it was at the stem of his brain. They are performing surgery on him Thursday at noon, so please be in prayer for him and his whole family-that God can provide peace, comfort, healing, and rest in way that only He can. The doctor said that he would not even be performing this kind of surgery if they were not at that hospital with that kind of technology, so praise Him for that!!
Also, my cousin Danny (34) had surgery last week on his thyroid-they went in to remove part of it and found out that it was cancer, and went back in to remove the rest. They also removed some lymph nodes to check for cancer in them, but thankfully the tests came back negative. He will go back in about 5 weeks to undergo some chemotherapy which will hopefully kill any cancer that is left; and should be fine after that. It will be a rough 5 weeks because they want the cells to be so hungry that when he receives the treatment it will eat them all up.
Thank you for going to our Father in prayer for both of these guys. I know the power of prayer is wonderful and that He hears the cries of His people. What in the world would we do without community?!
