I was going to come over here last night to talk about American Idol, but then I read about the tragedy in Steven Curtis Chapman's family, and it just broke my heart. The Chapman's have 3 biological children and 3 adopted girls from China. Last night, the youngest adopted daughter, Maria (5) was accidentally struck by one of the older brother's car while she was playing in the driveway, and later died at the hospital.
I cannot even begin to imagine the grief involved, or the emotions running through the brother's head and heart. It was definitely an accident, and I pray that he does not feel any guilt-and if he does, that God will take it away and replace it with peace. My heart is very heavy for them. Please pray for their family. What began as a day of joy (the announcement of their oldest daughter's engagement and one of their sons graduating soon) ended in a day of unforeseen tragedy.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort. ~2 Corinthians 1:3-7
