Brrrrr....

Ok, so I took the plunge and went glacier swimming today! Oddly enough, it really wasn't that bad and it was a TON of fun! We took the little kids out there today for about 3 hours, and of course it was yet another amazing day in Juneau and it was HOT! The water was extremely cold, but the sun helped out with the heating up process...who would've ever thought I'd be getting a tan in Alaska?!! And yet...here I am with a sunburn! LOL We also went swimming yesterday out at Auke Bay, but this time it was ocean water and it felt GREAT!!

I got to finally attend a Sunday morning service on Sunday and meet the preacher Bruce (who is also from Texas) for the first time face to face, so that was nice! The congregation is just wonderful and I am really enjoying getting to know them. I have been staying with the Henderson's for the last week, and they have been so awesome. They have a girl named Sarah who is about to be a Senior (and she is Korean, but has lived here all her life!) and we have had a lot of fun hanging out...she even shared her room with me! Yesterday I moved to the Paden's because their grandparents are out of town for a few weeks, and I am staying in the grandparent's house, which is connected to the Paden's...so I kind of have a house to myself. They have 3 younger kids: 2 boys and one girl, and they are awesome. I will be moving back into the Henderson's after the three weeks are up. Last night we had a slumber party with some of the girls and that was fun, and Sarah even came over and spent the night with me...she just can't get away! ;-)

Anyway, we are going hiking up to Windfall lake cabin (the one we hiked to on Saturday) tomorrow and we are taking the bigger kids, so that should be fun! It was so quiet and peaceful the other day that we went...but I am sure we will fix that! HA HA

So, I am signing off for today-You are all in my prayers and I love you lots! God bless!

Hey Kid!

Sure sounds like and exciting time in Alaska. Do they have any openings? I'd like to apply for a... uhm, chaperon job? I can pack a mean lunch. Problem is...getting the stuff up the cliffs.

This is just great! Happy you are meeting such wonderful people and helping these kids. They are blessed to have such a hard working, loving, positive, beautiful young intelligent woman working with their kids!

Your wed site is just great! Talk to you later.

Love, hugs & kisses,

Mom xo
