Freedom

Alright, so I have a ton of catching up to do! It has been a very cloudy, yet not very rainy week, so the weather has been great because it has been very cool. I found out the other day that they had record breaking heat for a record amount of days in June...while it has been raining down in Texas! One of the mornings this week I woke up and the clouds were so low that it covered up the mountains to where you couldn't even see them, and then at times they would just peek through and it was totally awesome to see. Eventually the clouds would rise and you would be able to see the mountains and I just continue to be in awe!!

On Tuesday a few of us went out to a house of some of the members of our church to do some yard work. We were probably out there for 5 hours or so, but it was a nice cloudy day and we got a lot of work done. We also got to pick blueberries afterwards and I had my first taste of salmon berries, and yum...they were good! On Wednesday I had the chance to help in the little kids class which I will begin teaching next Wednesday and I am excited about that!

Thursday we had our first meeting in preparation for VBS which will come later in July and sounds like it is going to be really cool. The theme is the "Final Frontier" (ironic, huh?) and talks about different characters in the Bible like Elijah (one of my favorites!), and me and Daniel are in charge of the skits, so that should be fun! Then we took the little kids swimming at the swimming pool here in town and we had a lot of fun, and then that night (well actually Friday morning) we went to the airport because Bruce's wife came in at about 1:00 in the morning, and she has two precious little girls, so we went to help them get all of their stuff to their house.

On Friday me, Daniel, Slader, Kyle, and Monica went to the Eagle glacier and it was about a 12 mile hike and it was VERY grueling. It took us about 3 hours just to get there, and even then we just made it to a lookout, but oh my...it was an absolutely gorgeous lookout! But we did not make it all the way to the actual glacier because we were running out of time. We had brought two dogs with us and one of them found a porcupine and the poor thing came back with porcupine quills all in her mouth, and we still had a couple of hours to go. I felt so bad for her, but we finally made it back and Daniel's dad is a vet so he was able to help her...and by the time I dropped everyone else off it was 6:45 in the evening...and guess what? The girls were supposed to be coming over to my house at 7:00 for a girls night!! So needless to say it was very frantic because I was SO exhausted and every part of my body was in sever pain, and I still had a shower to take and food to prepare! It all worked out though and we had a good time even though I didn't get to sleep until 3:30 this morning!! The girls were all out by 10:00 and I took a power nap today, but that is about it! Needless to say...it has been a long week, I am very exhausted and it's not over yet! ;-) They don't do the fireworks here until midnight because that is when it gets dark, so it is going to be another very late night! We are also having church earlier in the morning at 9:30 because there is a parade and potluck (Yum!) Sunday afternoon...so it just never ends, but it is (of course) all part of the adventure!!

Anyway, I hope that you all have a most wonderful 4th of July and that God is blessing you!! Love you!!

"I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free". ~Psalm 119:32
