The concert was AMAZING!!! It really did rock my socks off...and it was three and a half hours long!! It was a surprise to see Steven Curtis Chapman come out first and sing a little bit, then he introduced Casting Crowns-and they sang all of their hits like "We Are the Body" and "Voice of Truth" which Steven came back out and sang with them on...then he did a medley of some of his old school songs while they were setting up behind him (he said he didn't want to waste a minute of time and I was thankful for that!!)...then he introduced Chris Tomlin, who then came out and sang (and not long enough!!), and Steven also sang a song with him. Then after a break Steven came out for another hour or so and it was just incredible!! A guy kept coming out and switching out his guitars, and I am serious-he never missed a beat-he would put the guitar on and just start strumming to begin the new song!! If you ever get a chance to see this trio of performers, I would highly HIGHLY recommend it! It will be well worth your money and your time.
It was great to be in Lubbock this past weekend and go to Master Follies and to see old friends...but of course the highlight of my weekend (even over the concert) was going to Broadway on Sunday morning. What a blessing that was! It usually always is, but something about this past Sunday was even more special-there is something about driving down those bricks and walking into that building...it is truly home. It has only been a month since I had been there, but I was welcomed like it had been much longer and it was just beautiful!! I love and miss you guys more than you know!!!
I came back Sunday afternoon a little earlier than usual because some of my guy friends (whose names will go unmentioned for fear that word might get out they CAN be gentlemen) ;-) cooked and served a really nice Valentine's Day dinner to some of us girls. They even dressed up and had candles and it was really nice-there was even a "dress code" for us! (he he) I give major props to them-it was really sweet and very impressive and I know they went to a lot of work to pull it off...
Well, for those of you Lubbock-ites, I get to have dinner with my good friend, Oglethorpe (otherwise known as Rodney Plunket) on Thursday, and I am WAAAAAY excited about that! It has been too long and I can't wait to hug his precious neck!
We are almost a week into Lent now, and so far I have done well! I have been tempted by chocolate pie, cheesecake (from the Cheescake Factory nonetheless!) and chocolate cake...but have not given in-I am fleeing from the evil of sweets!! ;-) 1 week down, 6 to go...*sigh*
I hope and pray that you are being blessed by the grace of God today...
"God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work". ~II Corinthians 9:8

Hey Katherine!
It's so funny that we actually go to the same school again, but I NEVER see you! The Bible building is so far from the speech pathology building, I don't make my way over there too much! That's awesome that you were able to spend time with your LCU friends. I'm so ready to see my Harding friends! If I can only wait till easter! I hope all is going well, maybe I'll run into you at lectureship stuff!
Love ya!
Lindsey
What a ginormous concert. Would have loved to been there. Not coming to lectures. Already done OCU Lectures PLUS National Pastors' Convention... Too much to make Abilene fit too...
sooo...Katwoman...who's the man in your picture??? That doesn't look like you-know-who...
And, by the way, why was it that you were banned from the Dusty Lip Club?
heh heh heh ;)
