Desire

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ...

Alright, so enough depressing posts-thanks so much for hanging in there with me and praying for me the past week or so as I've been venting and pouring out my heart. Speaking of hearts, I haven't mentioned the Girls conference I was blessed to be a part of last weekend in Lubbock. Our theme this year was "Desire" as we talked about the desires of our hearts and focused on Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart". I have to give a shout out to my new friend, Sarah Campbell, who is one of the youth ministers at the Highland church here in Abilene...who did an awesome job as the speaker encouraging us to deny the desires of this world, and to seek God's will! Last year was our first year to plan this and I was able to be on the planning committee-our theme was "Queen For A Day", and we talked about Esther-and it was such a fun day!! Especially since I was able to wear a tiara all day!! I love being a queen...but by the end of the day I had a headache, so I decided to surrender my throne...it was so great to be reminded that we are daughters of the King and are special in His eyes! This year was another wonderful reminder to seek the things of God's kingdom, rather than storing up our treasures here on earth...

It is SO amazing what happens when you get a bunch of girls together who love the Lord!! They came from all different kinds of denominations, but you couldn't tell, because like I have been talking about-it was truly the body of Christ-just like it should be. I loved it-it totally rocked, and it was especially wonderful to be with my B-way babes! I sure do love and miss them-they were a lot of fun (even though they kept messing with my hair and giving me a certain type of hairdo which I shall not mention on this blog-he he) They encourage and energize me like no other and I thank God for them.

It's almost Spring Break (can I get a chorus of Hallelujah??!!) and even though I am not sure exactly what I am doing, I am definitely ready for a much needed break! I am going to the Lubbock Christian High School girls basketball state tournament this weekend in Mansfield-I sure hope they win and it will be wonderful to spend some time with my extended Lubbock family and also see my parents...I definitely don't get to see them near enough. This will be my second LCHS state championship game to go to this year-the first one was back in December when they won in football...GO EAGLES!! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and that God blesses you tremendously...

"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness". ~Colossians 2:6-7
