The aftermath of ACSD

We made our plane and our way back to good 'ol Abilene from Indiana. It was a great conference and an awesome time to just get away and spend time with people. The campus we were on, Indiana Wesleyan University, was incredible!! They just finished remodeling their student center, and it looked like a mall in a village-it was way cool:

I got to see one of my favorite artists, Shawn McDonald in concert, and of course that rocked!!

The trip to Chicago was awesome!! It ended up only being three of us: me, Mark, and Chris. We stopped by Notre Dame along the way-I really felt like I was stepping on holy ground. Wow, that was so cool!! Then we made our way to watch the reigning World Series champions defeat the Detroit Tigers. It was awesome-those fans are crazy-they are definitely passionate and loyal!! It was a great experience. We walked in right when the gates opened and they were having batting practice. We walked down to the edge of the field, and Kenny Rogers (ex Rangers pitcher who now plays for Detroit) was throwing around. Chris is a huge Rangers fan and told Kenny that we were from Texas, that we missed him, and he was having a great season. He said thank you, and then later Chris asked for a ball and he threw it right to him. Then I was waving at him because I wanted one, and a few minutes later he threw one right at me!! :)

Now, I have killer sinus/upper respiratory infection that I developed about Tuesday (ugh!!), so I am going to the doctor in a little bit. I rarely get sick (knock on wood), and I would get sick when we leave town!! I still had a blast though!! I am headed to Lubbock in a little bit,too-it was so strange not to be at Encounter this week. I really missed being there and I am sure God moved in wonderful ways like He usually does! I am hoping to catch the last of it tonight, depending on how I feel going to a wedding tomorrow, and then a wedding shower on Sunday!! Woo-hoo!

Hope you all have a blessed weekend~

I'm glad you liked Chicago. I hope to visit it this summer as well but I'll hit the art museum and maybe some parks. I like big cities because of all the architecture and all the people. I'm just happy to be walking around cathching busses and trains.
