It is no secret that I love music...all of it-I love singing, listening, jammin' out in my car, going to as many concerts as I can afford, worshipping, musicals...ok you get the picture!! :)
Last Thursday I had an absolutely amazing experience...as I said, I usually try to make about every concert (mainly Christian, although I might cut off my left arm to go to a U2 concert) I can make it to-especially if they are in Abilene...although I have definitely been known to drive 2-3 hours for a concert. Anyway, I took a couple of my girls and one of my RA's to the Audio Adrenaline/MercyMe concert. This is Audio A's last tour of all time, so it was bittersweet-and as always it ROCKED!! We had an absolute blast at this concert-I was jamming and dancing and I felt like a kid. Then MercyMe came out-LOVE them!! I am in love with their new CD. It is more rockish (is that a word? If not, it is now), but when they got to "I Can Only Imagine"-wow...I know that some will say this song is overplayed and old, but I can honestly say that I do not think it will ever seem that way to me. It has such incredible meaning behind it (for several reasons, mainly memories) and I love hearing it every time it is played on the radio or on my CD player. So, of course when they begin to play it everyone gets excited and then everyone is singing along...and I am singing at the top of my lungs, and I don't know how to explain it-but as I was singing and stretching my arms just about as far as they would go up into the sky...I could feel the Spirit rush over me. I am not a crazy, charismatic person, but this I know: It is alive-oh my word, whoever thinks that the Holy Spirit is not working today...it is, and it is all over the place...but I really felt it at that moment-in a way that I have not felt it in years-well, maybe never-not like that-WOW.
Thank God for His Spirit that is alive and moving today, and that will intercede for me when so often I simply do not have the words to say or pray. I just wanted to share this with whoever will read-and I pray that the Spirit is moving in your life in powerful ways! :)

You know Katherine, I rememember when....
Before Mercy Me ever signed a major record deal, they were just an awesome praise team. They used to come to Nacogdoches at least once a year to lead worship for Great Escape (a worship assembly on Wednesday nights that actually united all of the college christian organization.. every one of them!). I had some of their cd's that you can't get anymore...And that was some of their best stuff. They do an awesome concert don't they!
