Wow, Christmas!! Where did that come from? Merry Christmas, everyone!! This has been an awesome week-I spent the last week in Lubbock and that is ALWAYS a blessing-I am so thankful for my extended family there! Then, I arrived home in Denton on Saturday night, everyone came over to our house yesterday for Christmas lunch (we sure did create and consume a ton of food in a very short amount of time!!), then had Christmas with my brother and his kids, played Apples to Apples and watched Miracle on 34th Street! I love being with my family during the holidays, and look forward to the next week at home. It is wonderful to actually be around people who love you and accept you for who you are without feeling like you have to be someone or something else for them. That is the way it is meant to be!
I really do love this time of year, and not necessarily for the tangible presents, but for the presence of family and friends, and of course the gift of a Savior who daily blesses and saves me with His love, grace & mercy. I can constantly feel His Spirit consume me and I am so thankful for the way He guides my life. I just hope I am truly following His will and that I will continue to serve Him wholeheartedly!
And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me—holy is his name...
"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
