Make me a servant

It never ceases to amaze me the way that God works in our lives-especially when we don't expect it and/or don't deserve it...

I had two separate meetings today with two wonderful women who truly blessed my life. The first one was Brenda Chrane, who is the Congregational Care Minister at Highland, and we went to lunch because I am placing membership there. We have been trying to get together for over a month-and finally today we were able to connect. By the time we were finished I felt like I had known her forever, instead of just having met! The second meeting was with Jeanene Reese, who is over the Women in Ministry department at ACU, and who I have also been wanting to meet with for awhile. I also felt extremely connected to her after we finished, and I love them both dearly!!

It was so amazing what took place in both meetings-I ended up telling them both about all of the struggles I have had since I have been in Abilene and my desires for doing ministry, and they both encouraged and challenged me more than they know. They both also prayed for me-and what beautiful prayers they were! There is something so amazingly humble and blessed when someone is praying for you-especially these mighty women of God. None of this was planned-what we met for had nothing to do with what we ended up talking about, but I think God knew I needed them at this point.

What an incredible bond we can share in the community of God-I don't know how or why I have been so blessed in my life with SO many amazing men and women of God who have been incredibly formative for my spritual walk, but I am so incredibly thankful for each and every one of them, and I sure hope they know that. There are WAY too many to mention-but for all of those who are reading this-I hope YOU know what an impact you have made on my life and how thankful I am for you!! I really do hope that I can do the same for others as I get older.

Thank you, Brenda and Jeanene-for being the hands and feet of Christ to and for me. You are true blessings and I know that God sent you in my life right now for a special purpose. Lord, make me servant...
